2. Composite fillings are prepared from a mixture of plastic-type materials and are best suited for slighter to mid-sized cavities in teeth that perform a good amount of chewing. One of their advantages is that they can be customized to be the exact color of the patient’s teeth.

3. Porcelain fillings can also be identified as inlays and onlays and just like composite fillings; they can also be matched to the color of the tooth. The cost of porcelain fillings can be compared to be similar to gold and they have a tendency to resist staining.

4. Cavity filling can also be done with the help of metals like silver amalgam or gold and both of them are counted as one of the common metals for this activity. However, there is a huge difference in terms of the cost of both these metals as gold filling proves to be more costly than silver amalgam fillings. It is said that the life of metal fillings can be stretched up to 10-15 years.

5. There is a type of filling known as glass ionomer cavity filling but it proves to be less durable if we compare with other types and contains a life of nearly five years. It is a kind of composite filling and discharges fluoride to assist safeguard the teeth.

It means he or she will have to brush nearly two times a day and it will be better if they attempt to floss for at least once a day.
